Obituary of Perley Clowater

The passing of Perley David Clowater, husband of Phoebe (Curtis) Clowater of McNamee, NB occurred on October 16, 2011, at his home. Born on April 10, 1926, Perley was a son of the late Ronald and Margaret “May” (Stewart) Clowater. Perley was a school bus driver for many years in District 9. He had many jobs throughout his life including as a rural mail carrier, insurance salesman, monument salesman with Heritage Monuments, pulpwood contractor and truck driver. Outside his work, Perley spent time on the Board of Directors for Stanley Mutual, Past President of the School Bus Drivers’ Union, member of Landmark Masonic Lodge #51, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #23 in Doaktown and a member of the Shriners Arab Patrol. His main hobby would have been curling but he also enjoyed fishing for which he was a guide. In addition to his wife, Perley is survived by two sons, Roger Clowater (Mary) and Dana Clowater (Crystal); two daughters, Esther Clowater Sarchfield (Alvin) and Darla Clowater Reed (Gary); seven grandchildren, Michelle (Danny), Robbie (Gwen), Amy, Vanessa, Victoria, Margaret and Eleanor; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Boyd; two sisters, Juanita and Mona; several nieces and nephews including two special nieces, Irma and Nellie. Besides his parents, Perley was predeceased by two sons, David Hurley and Curtis Andrew; one daughter, Ava Marie; one brother, Harold Stewart; three sisters, Valerie, Marion and Eva; and three infant siblings. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from McNamee Pentecostal Assembly on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 2 pm with Pastor Wade Bradford officiating and Rev. Cole Price assisting. Interment will take place in the McNamee Pentecostal Cemetery in Porter Cove. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
