Obituary of Leo Colford

The passing of Leo Kenneth Colford, husband of the late Anna “Annie” Colford, of Cross Creek, NB, occurred on October 15, 2011 at his home. Born on April 13, 1924 in Howard, NB, he was a son of the late Charles and Jane (Turner) Colford. Leo was a retired Millworker, previously employed with James Sparkes and Sons. Leo is survived by eight daughters, Alice Veno, Betty (Edwin) Donnally, Bernice (Darrel) Green, Wilma (Gilbert) Thibodeau, Judy (Greg) Kirby, Valerie Colford, Florence (Donald) Colford and Faye (Phil) Colford; four sons, Kenny (Helen), Perry (Mary Jane), Maxwell (Carmen) and Ronnie (Joanne); 27 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; two sisters, Benedicta Layton and Catherine (Tony) McEvoy; one sister-in-law, Mary Colford; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Leo was predeceased by one granddaughter, Amanda Colford; two grandsons, Jimmy Lee and Joel Colford; five brothers, Harold (Katherine), Marven, Charles (Annie), Joseph and Earl. Visitation will take place at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Stanley, NB on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 11 am with Father Aaron Knox as celebrant. Pallbearers are Corey, Cody and Jeff Colford, Emmett Donnally, Nicky Colford and Blake Kirby; Honourary Pallbearers are Mark and Justus Lyons, Kyle Kirby, Eric Arbeau, Ryan Cookson, Angela and Catlin Colford. Interment will take place at the church cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
