Obituary of Inez Burns

The passing of Inez “Burnsie” Veronica Burns, of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late John Burns, occurred on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 4, 1924 in Saint Leonard, NB, she was a daughter of the late Mike and Mary (Munn) McCafferty. Inez was a member of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church. She was formerly a teacher at St. Michael’s Academy in Miramichi, NB and an Accountant for Levine’s Store and Abe Levine & Sons. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Rod) Lyons of Fredericton, NB; sister, Glendine Picconi of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Rick Burns; sisters, Patricia Gunter and Theresa Moore; brother, Reginald McCafferty. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Sunday, October 16, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held from St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday at 2 pm with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date.
