Obituary of Leonard Palmer

The passing of Leonard Carl Palmer of Gagetown, formerly of Bloomfield Ridge, NB, husband of Maxine (Currie) Palmer of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on May 18, 1936 in Bloomfield Ridge, NB, he was a son of the late Perley and Beatrice (Scott) Palmer. Leonard was a truck driver with Irving Oil, Delivery & Sales; he then worked at Burnthill and Rocky Brook Fishing Lodges. He was a past member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 78, Normandy. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Carol Kingston, Wanda Palmer and Karen Storms (Tim Clowater) and sons, Gregory (Etta) and Robin (Lisa) all of Fredericton, NB; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sisters, Thelma LeSaux (Roger) of Armstrong, BC and Ileene Wombolt (Russell) of Nova Scotia; brother, Merlin (Leslie) of Boiestown, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three infant children; infant sister, Thelma Jeannette Palmer and sisters, Louise Grant, Martha Astle, Tressa Merrill, Pricilla Walsh and Mary Carson and brother, Everett Palmer. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Although there will be no Funeral Service, a Graveside Service will be held from Baptist Bloomfield Ridge Cemetery, Bloomfield Ridge, NB on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 10 am with Mr. Wally Ellis (DLM) officiating.
