Obituary of Alice Hunter

The passing of Alice Annie Hunter of Astle, NB, wife of G. Nelson Hunter, occurred on Monday, October 10, 2011 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 27, 1938 in Red Rock, NB, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Hood. She was a member of the Boiestown United Church. Alice retired as Food Service Manager and Head Cook at Central New Brunswick Nursing Home. She was the past president of Astle Recreation Center, Astle Community Group and served on the Nursing Home Board of Directors. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Melvin Hunter (Lori) of Fredericton, NB and Gregory Hunter (Beverly) of Rothesay, NB; eight grandchildren, Nicky Donald, Mitchell Hunter, Jordan Hunter, Dustin McFawn, Brittany Sharpe, Caleb Hunter, Samuel Hunter and Liam Hunter; brother, Darrell Hood (Joan) of Red Rock, NB; sisters-in-law, Ethel Douglass, Jean Hood and Leona Hood; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Bun, Bill, Doug and Vernon; sisters-in-law, Freda and Marie Hood. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 7-9 pm and Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Beverly Daley officiating. Interment will take place in Astle Cemetery.
