Obituary of Geraldine MacDonald

The passing of Geraldine Mary MacDonald of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at home. Geraldine was predeceased by her husband, Richard Wilson MacDonald in July, 1985. Born on December 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Elwina O’Donnell. Geraldine was employed for many years by Hogan’s Grocery Store on Regent Street. She and Richard both retired after several years working at Boldon’s Grocery Store on Regent Street. Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Trecartin; granddaughter, Krista; grandson, Robert; great granddaughter, Jenna; great grandson, Garret; sister, Bertha (Ray) Parker; brother in law, Rev. Angus (Pat) MacDonald; sisters in law, Erma and Jean O’Donnell; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Geraldine was predeceased by her brothers, Roy, Patrick, Basil, Victor, Don and her sister, Isabelle (Midge) Hovey. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 11 am with her brother in law, Rev. Angus MacDonald officiating. Interment will take place in Bloomfield Ridge United Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
