Obituary of Myrtle MacLean

The passing of Myrtle A. MacLean occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB, on Thursday, April 26, 2012. Born at Dorn Ridge, NB on July 20, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Tilley and Ethel (Bird) Crandall. Myrtle was a member of the Dorn Ridge Church of Christ. She was a much loved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Prior to her marriage, she was a postal worker, and later she worked for many years as a hairdresser. Myrtle is survived by her grandson, Adam Hanson (Paulette) and his father, Howard Hanson; nieces, Mavis Fowler (Eldon), Marilyn Whynott, Myrna Jones, Ginny Sargeson (Terry), Sylvia Guidrey, Patricia Munn (Arthur) and Carol Clifford (Dick); nephews, Kyle Jones (Susan), Graham Crandall (Celinda), Phillip Crandall (Sam), Ray Crandall (Verla) and Malcolm Brewer (Teresa). Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Sheldon MacLean; daughter, Linda Hanson; sister, Evelyn Jones; brothers, Murray Crandall, Douglas Crandall and Alden Crandall; nephew, Allan Whynott; several sisters in law and brothers in law. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 6-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 2 pm with Pastor Gordon Weatherby and Pastor Graham Crandall officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Brent Fowler, Brian Fowler, Alden Whynott, Kerry Jones, Gregory Sargeson and Corey Dickinson; Honourary Pallbearers are Eldon Fowler, Kyle Jones, Terry Sargeson and Howard Hanson. Interment will take place in Dorn Ridge Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
