Obituary of Leola Smith
The passing of Leola Alberta Smith of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Percy Smith, occurred on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the York Care Centre. Born on February 26, 1922 in McNamee, NB, she was the daughter of the late Hartley and Susan (Beek) Price. She was a seamstress at J.D. Creaghan’s – Levine’s Department Store. Leola enjoyed sewing, reading, tap dancing and fiddle music.
Leola is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Dallas) McKie of Calgary, AB; sons, David (Irene) Price of Fredericton, NB, Richard (Adrienne), Edwin (Wanda) and Patrick (Jinzhi) Smith all of Fredericton, NB and Gerald Smith of Calgary, AB; grandchildren, Jude Smith; Darren Smith; Michael “Mike” Price (Kelly) and their children, Hayden and Bronwyn; Jason Price (Leanne) and their son, Nolan; Jill Price; Will Long; Carol Saunders (John) and their children, Justin and Zachary; Tina Jameson (Lane) and their daughter, Kayla; Wendy Johnson (Calvin) and their children, Erika and Kristin; Shuang-Sha Smith; sisters, Mildred Clowater of New Bandon, NB and Flora Rice of Saint John, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Jessie Charters, Marjorie Munn, Winnifred Kenny, Juanita Fletcher, Doris Woodworth and Louise Maston; brothers, Stanley, Henry and Joseph Price.
Although there will be no visitation or service; a memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB.
