Obituary of Gloria DeWolfe

The passing of Gloria Jean (Rice) DeWolfe, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 30, 1949 in Fredericton, NB, she was a daughter of the late Hazen and Mabel (Painter) Rice. Gloria had several passions in life including painting, gardening and spending time poolside with her many friends but none exceeded her loving, nurturing relationship as 'Nana' to her grandchildren. Gloria retired from NB Power after many years of dedicated service. She was a committed Christian affiliated with Grace Memorial Baptist Church. Gloria is survived by her children, Mandy (Keith) Tower and Geoff DeWolfe; grandchildren, Aidan, Brandon, Alex, Gillian and Cate; sister, Marilyn (Wayne) Chenard of Gagetown, NB; brother, Craig (Monica) Sturgeon of Kamloops, BC; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Rice of Barker’s Point, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Charles Rice. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 1 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place at Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or to Grace Memorial Baptist Church.
