Obituary of Sara Bourque

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Sara “Sadie” Gertrude (Martin) Bourque, of North Tay, NB, beloved wife of the late Henry Bourque, who passed away peacefully on April 10, 2012, at her home. Born on February 14, 1912 in Claudie Settlement, NB, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Katherine (McGarry) Martin. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Sadie was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Tay Creek, NB. Sadie is survived by her daughters, Jeannette Campbell of Idabel, OK, Elizabeth Hawkes, Katherine Paradis-Bavis (Murray), Shirley Beggs (Dorian), Agnes Edmondson (Mike), Joanne McWade (Tim), Deana MacKinnon (Chub) and Theresa Brewer (Edwin) all of Stanley, NB; her sons, Ronald (Marie-Paule) of Murdochville, QC, Gerald (Sandra), Earl (Barbara) and Clement Bourque (Starlene) all of Stanley, NB; 45 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, David Bourque; grandsons, Peter, Jason and Bradley; granddaughter, Patti; sisters, Sereta Meehan, Sunvie Kelly, Eva Bourque and her twin sister, Antoinette who died at two days old; brothers, Andrew, John, Alexander and Frances Martin. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Tay Creek, NB on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 11am with Father Aaron Knox as celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Tay Creek, NB.
