Obituary of Allen Pickard

The passing of Allen Earle Pickard of Fredericton, NB, husband of Shirley Pickard occurred on Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 8, 1939 in Woodstock, NB, he was the son of the late Ralph and Beulah (Hagerman) Pickard. He worked as a crane operator for Caldwell and Ross and spent several years prior to his retirement as a Fredericton City Transit Driver. Allen was a member of the Mick Mack Trailer Club, Lake George, NB. In addition to his wife, Allen is survived by his daughters, Betty Muise (Lloyd) of Rothesay, NB and Elaine Eidt of Maugerville, NB; sons, Glendon (Germaine), Bev and Paul all of Fredericton, NB; step children, Ross Stickles (Gail)of Fort McMurray, AB, Wendy Hawkes of Kingsley, NB and Kevin Stickles (Vicki) of Fredericton, NB; 19 grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; sisters, Audrey Hyde of Nasonworth, NB, Alta Christie (Fred) of Waterville, NB, Ardith MacDonald of Woodstock, NB and Arleigh MacDonald (Ward) of Woodstock, NB; brother, Arnold Pickard (Sharon) of Waterville, NB; brothers in law, Wendall Clarkson (Mary Jean) of Mississauga, ON and Dow Clarkson (Coral) of Abbotsford, BC; aunts, Rita Cummings of Saint John, NB, Mavis Hagerman of Zealand, NB, Doris Blaney of Temperance Vale, NB and Ruth Crosman of Nortondale, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Allen was predeceased by his son in law, Tony Hawkes; brothers in law, George Hyde and George MacDonald. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 6:30 -9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 11am with Canon Bill MacMullin officiating. Interment will take place in St. Luke’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Temperance Vale, NB. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, New Brunswick Kidney Foundation or the charity of the donor’s choice.
