The passing of Joan Elizabeth Campbell formerly of Doaktown, NB, wife of Douglas Campbell occurred on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Shannex Nursing Home. Born on December 19, 1938 in Blackville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Archie and Nora (Coulter) Beaton. She was a member of the Carroll’s Crossing Baptist Church and was a very active member of the church. Joan was one of the founding members of the TOPS Club - Doaktown Chapter in the 70’s. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and embroidering; she also loved RV’ing and traveling. In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by her three sons, Donald (Connie) of Hanwell, NB, Lorne (Carma) of Campbellton, NB and Ashley (Jodi) of New Maryland, NB; grandchildren, Jeremy, Jacquelyn, Jonathan, Hilary, Morgan, Cole, Laura and Joey; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Margery (Walter) MacRae. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon on Friday, April 6, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Carroll’s Crossing Baptist Church on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 2 pm with Pastor Roger Mitchell officiating. Pallbeares for the service will be Eldon Clowater, Bobby Storey, Kevin Betts, Glen Harding, Marvin Lyons and Dale Morehouse. Interment will take place in the Doaktown Baptist Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Carroll’s Crossing Baptist Church or the ALS Society. Personal condolences may be offered through www.miramichivalleyfh.com
