Obituary of Ivy O'Hara

The passing of Ivy Doreen (Harben) O’Hara of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at York Care Centre. Born on December 15, 1921 in Cwm Ebbavale, Wales she was a daughter of the late Henry and Alice (Edwards) Harben. Ivy immigrated to Canada in June of 1930 where she settled in Minto and spent much of her life. During this time she was an active member of Minto United Church. Most recently she was attending Kingsley United Church. Ivy worked as a telephone operator then as a hairdresser before moving to Fredericton where she was employed with Speedy Propane. Her interests included crocheting, knitting, and gardening. Ivy was also an avid shopper. Ivy is survived by her daughter, Barbara Wilkins (Garfield) of Estey’s Bridge, NB, their children, Kimberley Cosman (Leslie), great granddaughters, Meagan and Morgan Cosman; Gregory Wilkins (Teresa) and Jason Wilkins (Julie), great granddaughter, Alexis Wilkins; son, Robert O’Hara (Katherine) of Williamsburg, NB, granddaughter, Kerensa O’Hara (Josh) and grandson, Nicholas O’Hara; several cousins. Besides her parents, Ivy was predeceased by her sister, Violet Wuhr. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation. A Graveside Service will take place in Wallbridge Cemetery, Minto, NB on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Joanne Barr officiating.
