Marlene died peacefully surrounded by family on March 31, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Born on May 23, 1948 in Fredericton, NB, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Evelyn (Stickles) Sherwood. Marlene operated the cafeteria for Service NB, was a member of the Salvation Army Edgewood Outpost, Killarney Hill, an active member of the youth group and choir and her concern for others made her a great caregiver. Marlene, her beautiful smile and big heart will be dearly missed by her loving husband Ron and son, Rick. Marlene is survived by her husband, Ron; son, Rick Lemon; step sons, Clifton Myshrall (Bev), Kevin Myshrall (Charlene), Jonathan Myshrall (Whitney) and Dwight Stairs (Kari); several grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Bonnie Morton (Bob) and Mervell Sherwood (Wendy); one uncle, Jim Stickles; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and her pets, Bear, Cuddles and Snowflake. Besides her parents Marlene was predeceased by two brothers, Cecil and Dale. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Monday, April 2, 2012 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Kendell McRae officiating and Rev. Allan Myshrall assisting. Interment will be in the Hawkins Corner Cemetery, Maplewood, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Hawkins Corner Cemetery.
