Obituary of Claudia Lavoie
The passing of Claudia Mary (Leblanc) Lavoie, wife of the late Eloie Lavoie, of Fredericton, NB occurred on March 29, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton. Born on July 15, 1923 in Rogersville, NB, she was a daughter of the late Albenie and Clara (Boucher) Leblanc. Claudia was a member of Ste. Anne des Pays Bas and enjoyed knitting, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles.
Claudia is survived by six daughters, Aurore Dupont (Jean-Marie) of Birdton, NB, Bella McCarthy (Leo) of Maxwell, ON, Leona Squires (Harvey) of Miramichi, NB, Laurianna Boreland (Steven) of Waasis, NB, Diane Lavoie of Fredericton, NB and Roselda Dupont (Marc-Aurele) of Burtts Corner, NB; five sons, Normand Lavoie (Geraldine) of Riviere Verte, NB, Ronald Lavoie (Carol) of Greenhill Lake, NB, Guy Lavoie of Keswick Ridge, NB, Roger Lavoie of Brampton, ON and Jerry Lavoie (Susan) of White Court, AB; 29 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Therese Coudrey (Marcel) of Montreal, QC, Bella Noel (Ray) of Coquitlam, BC, Maclina Cormier (Georges) of Saint-Antoine, NB, Clara Richard (Zoel) of Rogersville, NB and Albina Ouelllette of Rogersville, NB; one brother, Joseph Leblanc (Germaine) of Rogersville, NB; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one son, Laurie; granddaughter, Kimberley; grandson, Ronald; two step-mothers, Nazarine Leblanc and Adelma Leblanc.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ste. Anne-des-Pays-Bas on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 12 noon with Father Donald Savoie as celebrant. Pallbearers for the service are Matthew, Donald, Andrew and Daniel Dupont, Shawn Boreland and Steve Dube. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
