Obituary of Richard Holland

The passing of Richard Gary Holland of Fredericton, NB, husband and best friend of Bonita H. (Duncan) Holland occurred on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 7, 1948 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of Hartley and Edwena (Foster) Holland. Richard was a Plumber – Pipe Fitter at Local 325. In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his daughter, Jenny Stymiest (Marty) of Edmonton, AB; son, Scott Holland (Sarah) of Fredericton, NB; step daughter, Trisha of Saint John, NB; grandchildren, Ashley, Samantha, Brayden, Benjamin and Allison; great grandchild, Keagan; brother, Fred (Wendy) of Fredericton, NB sisters, Dianne McCallum (Dwight) of Ottawa, ON and Gail Rickard (Robin) of Island View, NB; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, and his beloved canine, “Maggie”. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, March 23, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Service in Celebration of Rick’s life will take place at Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church, 55 Corbett Avenue on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. John Symonds officiating and Rev. Adriaan Plaizier and Pastor Normand McDonald assisting. Pallbearers for the service will be Wayne Hughes, Wayne Duncan, Doug Holland, Aaron McCoy, Dwight McCoy and Mike Wilson; Honourary Pallbearers are John Beyer, Bill Curtis, Jim Haines, Garnet Holland, Meritt Holland and Doug Duncan. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Chalmers Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care or Oncology Unit), Hospice Fredericton or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
