The passing of Bertin Edmond Bourgoin of Fredericton, NB, husband of Suzanne (Gauthier) Bourgoin occurred on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 2, 1934 in St. Leonard, NB, he was the son of the late Lorne and Corinne (Cyr) Bourgoin. Bertin graduated from St. Francis Xavier University with a Geology Degree in 1956.
In addition to his wife, Bertin is survived by his sons, Martin Bourgoin (Kim) of Vald’Or, QC and Daniel Bourgoin (Carolle) of Grand Falls, NB; two grandchildren, Christian and Dominique; his sister, Sylvia Violette (Robert) of Grand Falls, NB. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Mariette Bourgoin.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ste. Anne-des-Pays-Bas on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 12 noon with Father Donald Savoie as celebrant. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the ALS Society.
