Obituary of Louis Guimont
It is with great sadness the family of Louis Joseph Guimont announces his death. Louis was born on June 12, 1940 in Grand Falls, NB, he was the youngest son of the late Sylvio and Edna (Dumas) Guimont. Before his retirement in 1997, he worked for the Provincial Department of Fisheries and Aqua-Culture. Louis loved the outdoors and was a great fisherman and hunter. His greatest pleasure was spending time at his camp in Juniper. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church and the NB Trapper Association. Louis especially loved spending time with his family.
Louis is survived by his wife, Patricia Goodine-Guimont of Fredericton, NB; one son, Paul Guimont (Paula) of Fredericton, NB; four daughters, Elaine Guimont (Andre Pilon) of Montreal. QC, Bridgette Guimont (Pierre Duhamel) of Montreal, QC, Susanne Gordon (Scott) of Moncton, NB and Louise Guimont (Fred Desjardin) of Montreal, QC; one step son, Jamie Goodine; two step daughters, Michele McKinley (Clark) and Corrine Duffenais (Rodney) all of Fredericton, NB; three granddaughters, Maryse, Jade and Ashley; four grandsons, Matthew, Mark, Ylann and Laurik; two step grandsons, Maverick and Michael; one brother, Maurice Guimont (Judy) of Waverly, Texas; one sister, Madeline Gallimore (Richard) of Houston, Texas. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Monique (Trudeau) Guimont.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 2 pm with Father John Jennings officiating. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date.
