Obituary of Raymond Bailey
The passing of Raymond Ralph “Pup” Bailey of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Doreen (Tucker) Bailey occurred on Thursday, March 08, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 7, 1932 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Ralph and Jessie (Collings) Bailey. He worked for NB Power for over 35 years, retiring as an Energy Advisor. He was a member of NB Power’s 25 Year Club; he was a former member of the Amateur Radio Club with his call sign, “VE9PUP” and the Capital Winter Club. Pup enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, time at the camp, collecting old “unique” items, and especially spending time with his family.
He is survived by his two daughters, Danica Callaghan of Richicbucto Road, NB and Brenda (George) McRae of Hamilton, ON; grandchildren, Kristy, Megan, Michael, Jarrett and Kendra; great grandchildren, Jayden and Talisha; brothers, Reg (Anna) Bailey and Donald “Butch” Bailey all of Fredericton, NB; brother in law, Dick (Claudia) Tucker; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his infant son, Michael; sister, Shirley and brother, Ronald “Pooter”.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Laurie Fenerty officiating. Interment will take place in Marysville Baptist Cemetery in the spring.
