Obituary of Edward Bavis
The passing of Edward “Ted” Bavis, husband of the late Jessie (Baker) Bavis, of Stanley, NB, occurred on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 7, 1925, he was a son of the late Harry and Mary (Donnelly) Bavis. Ted was a Veteran of WWII and following the war he worked as a mechanic mostly in Montreal. He was also an honourary member of the Royal Canadian Legion Beaverbrook Branch # 80. He enjoyed spending time at his camp
Edward is survived by his daughter, Valerie Bavis of Montreal, PQ; two granddaughters, Melissa (Wayne) Seveck of Douglas, NB and Tanya Legault of Montreal, PQ; great grandchildren, Alyssa and Dylan Seveck; siblings, Lawrence “Laurie” Bavis, Murray (Kathy) Bavis, Keith (June) Bavis, Reginald “Reg” Bavis, Gerald (Katherine) Bavis, Kirk (Judy) Bavis, Brian Bavis, Muriel Raymond (George), Betty Boudreau (Louis) and Annette Wilson (Evert); several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his son, Jerry Bavis.
In keeping with Ted’s request there will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Beaverbrook Branch #80 are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 2 pm for a tribute service. Interment will take place in Williamsburg Community Cemetery, Williamsburg, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice and would be appreciated by the family.
