Obituary of Katheryn Peterson

The passing of Katheryn Ilda Peterson of formerly of Taymouth, NB, wife of the late Harold Russell Peterson occurred on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton, NB. Born on August 6, 1915 in Tay Valley, NB, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Alexina (Abernethy) Bell. She was a School Teacher in various locations, retiring from Hubbard Avenue Elementary School in Oromocto, NB; she was also a member of the NB Retired Teachers Association. Katheryn was a member of the Taymouth United Church, a Lifetime Member of the UCW and a former Church Treasurer. She was a community oriented person; she also enjoyed cooking and traveling to various places. Katheryn is survived by her sister, Mary Dodds of Fredericton, NB; Kitty was dearly loved by her nieces, Susan Dodds and Ellen Boone (Doug) all of Fredericton, NB, Gail Bongard (Mitch) of Nasonworth, NB and Theresa Veniot (Peter) of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB; nephew, Donald Stewart (Kim) of Taymouth, NB; grand nieces and nephews, Krista Boone of Fredericton, NB, Katie Sharpe (Rob) of Waasis, NB, Nicholas and Julie Bongard of Nasonworth, NB, Joseph and Nicole Stewart of Fredericton, NB; great great niece, Stella Rose Sharpe. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her infant sister, Gertrude Ethel Bell and sister, Mildred Bell and her brother, Lloyd Bell. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Taymouth United Church on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Franklin Curtis and Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place in Taymouth Community Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
