Obituary of Harold Villers

The passing of Harold P. Villers of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Glenna (Pugh) Villers occurred on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the DVA Veteran’s Health Unit. Born on February 11, 1921 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Welch) Villers. Harold was the owner/operator of Villers Construction Company Limited until he retired. He was a Veteran of WWII serving six years overseas. Harold was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4. Harold is survived by his son, Jon (Mary) Villers of Fredericton, NB; daughters, Pat (Gordon) Waugh of Douglas, NB and Diane Villers (Tom) of Fredericton, NB; five grandchildren, Amy Appleby (Malcolm), Joanne McNeill (Jeff), Karen Hulberg (Trevor), Brian Villers (Julie) and Katelyn Villers (Shawn); two great grandsons, Nicholas Appleby and Alexander Hulberg; sister, Marie (Carmen) Maltby of Orangeville, ON; brother, Frank Villers (Jean) of ON; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Green and brothers, Robert, Lloyd and Gerald Villers. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 4 pm with Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating. Following there will be a reception in the fireside room. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 are asked to assemble at the funeral home for a Legion Tribute Service on Saturday at 4 pm. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery “Field of Honour” in the spring. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Veteran’s Health Unit.
