Obituary of Marcia McLellan

The passing of Marcia Lynne McLellan of Taymouth, NB, wife of Fred McLellan occurred on Friday, December 24, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 23, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Phyllis (Gorman) Hovey. She was a retired Court Stenographer for the Department of Justice and then worked for Red Cross Homecare. Marcia was a member of the Taymouth United Church and the church choir. She was a member of the Taymouth Market, a Canadian Cancer Society Volunteer; she also was a part of the Fredericton Cancer Support Group and Cancer Connection. Marcia was an avid gardener and loved music.
In addition to her husband, Marcia is survived by her son, John (Angie) of Penniac, NB and their children, John “David”, Cortney and great granddaughter, Zoey; daughter, Angela (Paul) Maher of Boyd’s Corner, NB and children, Kyle and Alicia Van Horne; sisters, Carolyn (Jim) Scott of Charlottetown, PEI and Carol (Jim) Whitmarsh of England; brother, Kevin (Vickie) Hovey of Fredericton, NB; mother in law, Mima McLellan of Fredericton, NB; sister and brother in law, Randy and Leigh Moore of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews; special sister in law, Anne McNeill. Besides her parents, Marcia was predeceased by her first husband, John Charles Scott and brother, Richard “Dickie” Hovey.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Franklin Curtis officiating. Interment will take place in Taymouth Community Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
