Obituary of Ronald Boyd

Ronald Darien Boyd of 120 McKnight St, Fredericton passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on February 19, 2011 at the age of 83 years. He was born in Minto, NB on May 16, 1927. He was the son of the late Freeman and Myrtle (Forward) Boyd. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty J. (Grasse) and two daughters, Brenda and Kathy, two sons, Gary and Ronald Kerry; four sisters, Gail, Sharon, Sheila and Cheryl; eight granddaughters; one grandson; seven great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, one son, James Michael and his beloved grandson, Dylan James Boyd. Ron was also predeceased by four brothers, Borden, Delmar, Garland and Hartley; three sisters, Doris, Birdie and Lillian. Ron worked for NB Power for 38 years retiring in 1986 after which he enjoyed travelling to many different destinations including the Caribbean, Hawaii, Tahiti, Russia, Iceland, Greenland, Alaska and Europe. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A service of committal will be held at a later date at the Dayton Cemetery in Douglas. If so wished, donations in his memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
