The passing of Arthur “Art” Budge Jewett, husband of the late Joyce (Rose) Jewett, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on March 6, 2011 at the DVA Veterans Health Unit, Fredericton. Born on July 24, 1923 in Aroostook, NB, he was a son of the late David and Faye (King) Jewett. Art was employed by NB Power. He was a Veteran of World War II, a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4, Alexander Lodge # 33 and the Canadian Fighter Pilots Association. He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn Jewett (Phyllis Sharpton) of Arizona, USA, Penny Jewett of Fredericton, NB, Dianne Williamson (Tim) of Edmonton, AB and Margaret Rose MacLean (Willie) of New Glasgow, NS; son, David Jewett (Diane Nadeau) of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Andre Doiron, Carolyn Williamson, Dominique Jewett, Danielle Jewett and Cydney Rose MacLean; sister, Joyce Farnham of Perth-Andover; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Underwood and brother, Robert Jewett. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 are asked to assemble at the Funeral Home for a Legion Tribute Service on Wednesday at 7 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 2 pm with Rev. Gerald M. White officiating. Interment will take place in the “Field of Honour” in Forest Hill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the DVA Veterans Health Unit, Royal Canadian Legion – Poppy Fund or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
