Obituary of Matthew Bruce

The passing of Matthew Adam Kent Bruce, of Taxis River, NB, occurred on June 26, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on February 17, 1989, he was the son of Troy and Sherry (Davis) Bruce. If you were looking for Matt you would probably find him in the shed working on his bike or someone else's. He was a great mechanic. Nothing will ever run smooth again. The deer and the fish can relax here on earth because Matt is having the time of his life in heaven. Matt loved spending time with family and friends up at the swimming hole. In Matt's nineteen years he knew more people than some do in an entire lifetime. Matt was a good friend to all and was loved by all who knew him. Taxis River will never be the same without Matt. Besides his parents, Matthew is survived by the love of his life, Maryann Rose of Stanley; two sisters, Jillian and Katelyn; grandmothers, Irene Hackett (Al) of Lincoln and Leola Bruce (Stan) of Burton; grandfathers, Kent Davis (Carol) of Astle and Carl Bruce (Ruth) of Maugerville; great grandmother, Mona Storey of Saint John and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Celebration of Matt’s life will be held from Ridgeway Baptist Church, Parkers Ridge on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 2 pm. Matt's uncle, Pastor Rick Bruce will officiate at the service. A Reception and time of fellowship will follow at the Ridgeway Baptist Church. Honorary Pallbearers are: Alison Carson, Chantelle Spencer, Leanne Palmer, Chris O'Donnell, Clinten O'Donnell, Joey O'Donnell, Christian Bubar, Corey Munn, BJ Nason, Cody Nason, Scott Forbes and Darren McLeod. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to the Ridgeway Baptist Church, the Cancer Society or in the form of live perennial plants for the family’s memorial garden would be appreciated by the family.
