Obituary of Samuel ODonnell

The passing of Samuel Allen O’Donnell Sr. formerly of Doaktown, NB, occurred at the Veteran’s Health Unit, Fredericton, NB. Born on April 21, 1916 in McNamee, NB, he was the son of the late Finlow and Martha (Amos) O’Donnell. He was a member of Doaktown Wesleyan Church. Samuel was a Veteran of World War II. He served with the Army Service Corp., from 1939-45 in England, Germany, France and Holland. He was also truck driver for Russell and Swim. Samuel is survived by his sons, Leonard of Florida, Samuel Jr. of McNamee, Harold of Fredericton and Elwood of Doaktown; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Samuel was the last surviving member of his immediate family, besides his parents, Samuel was predeceased by his son, Wayne; sisters, Greta and Annabelle; brothers, Perley, Winston, Mont, Gerald and Ramsey. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon on Friday at 2 pm with grandson, Rev. Carl O’Donnell, officiating. Interment will take place in Doaktown Wesleyan Cemetery (South Road). For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
