Obituary of Sherwood Lyons

The passing of Sherwood Howard Lyons, formally of Carroll’s Crossing, NB, occurred on Friday, January 30, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 16, 1923 in Carroll’s Crossing, NB, he was the son of the late Howard and Bernetta (Storey) Lyons. Sherwood is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Sherwood was predeceased by his sisters, Essie Calhoun, Renda Lyons, Margaret Davidson, Louise Cowie and Mearle Clowater; brothers, Trevinnion, Astley, Hazen and Sterling. There will be no visitation by request. A Funeral Service will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 2 pm with Father Andrew Fraser officiating. Interment will take place at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery; Carroll’s Crossing at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the St. James the Greater Anglican Church, Ludlow - Heating Fund, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the charity of the donor’s choice.
