Obituary of Mary Lyons

The passing of Mary Martha (Reid) Lyons of Nelson Hollow, NB, wife of the late Hailey Lyons, occurred on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 8, 1930 in New Bandon, NB, she was the daughter of the late Irvine and Flora (Dougay) Reid. Mary was a member of T.O.P.S. and loved attending church. Mary is survived by her daughters, Patsy Cowie (Robert) of Carroll’s Crossing, NB and Florence Lyons of Nelson Hollow, NB; sons, Earl of Mill Cove, NB, Paul of Nelson Hollow, NB, Sherman of Doaktown, NB, Blaine (Roslyn) of Kitchener, ON and Kevin of Nelson Hollow, NB; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Bernie O’Regan of Vancouver, BC and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by her son, Fred Reid; brothers, Earl Reid, Frank Reid and Irvine Reid Jr. Visitation will take place at Doaktown Baptist Church on Saturday, February 14, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at the church on Sunday , February 15, 2009 at 2 pm with Rev. Tom Townsend officiating. Interment will take place in Doaktown Pentecostal Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Doaktown Baptist Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
