Obituary of James Porter

The passing of James “Jamie” Allen Porter of Doaktown, NB, husband of Mary Lou (Munn) Porter occurred on Monday, November 2, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 11, 1962 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of James and Valerie (Price) Porter. Jamie was a hard worker who loved his family dearly. He loved the simple things in life and was an avid outdoorsman. In his spare time, he could be found enjoying a ride on his ATV, talking about hunting and fishing or enjoying a hockey game, a sport which he was very involved in at a young age. Referred to as the "tease" by his daughter and many nieces and nephews and a man who, no matter how busy he was, always had time for someone who needed a helping hand, he will be sadly missed by everyone. In addition to his parents and wife, Jamie is survived by his daughter, Misty Porter; sister, Bonnie Robinson (Brent); brother, Jeffrey Porter (Judy) and nieces, Heidi and Lacey; numerous other nieces and nephews. Jamie was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Joe and Edna Price; paternal grandparents, Gerald and Anita Porter; mother and father-in-law, Betty and Herman Munn; four uncles, David, Wayne, Hartley and Byron. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, New Bandon, NB on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at the Miramichi Valley Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 2 pm with Rev. J.A. Treese officiating. Interment will take place in Anglican Cemetery, Doaktown, NB. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
