Obituary of Evelyn Carroll

The passing of Evelyn Victoria (Amos) Carroll, of Carroll’s Crossing NB, wife of the late H. Dwight Carroll, occurred on Friday, December 11, 2009 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Amostown, NB on June 29, 1922 she was a daughter of the late Hartley R. and Beatrice (O’Donnell) Amos. Evelyn owned and operated Carroll’s Grocery for several years. Her favorite hobbies included quilting, gardening and knitting. Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Cail (Floyd) of Amostown, NB, Beatrice Schulz (Ronald) of Torrington, AB, Lynn Connors (Gilbert) of Slave Lake, AB, Joy Magnus (Charles) of New Bandon, NB; son, Wayne Carroll (Shirley) of Doha, Qutar; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; brother, Leslie Amos (Eileen) of Doaktown, NB; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Evelyn was predeceased by one son, William Carroll; sisters, Leola Lyons, Jean MacDonald and Grace Lyons; brothers, infant Willard, Cecil, Lyman, and Carl Amos. Visitation take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from Carroll’s Crossing Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 2 pm with Pastor Wilbur Matthews and Pastor Roger Mitchell officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Carroll’s Crossing Baptist Church Cemetery or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
