Obituary of Victoria Long
The passing of Victoria Anna-Mae “Tory” Long, wife of the late Allan Long, occurred on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 9, 1924 in Carroll’s Crossing, NB, she was the daughter of the late Lester James and Jessie Suzanna (O’Donnell) Lyons.
Victoria is survived by her three daughters, Marlena Malek of Fredericton, Carol Price (Danny) of QC, Ardith Whalen (Wayne) of Fredericton; five sons, James Long (Bonny) of ON, Gerald Long (Dixie) of Fredericton, Arden Long of BC, Kevin Long of Ludlow, Ronald Long of ON; 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; one brother, Mervin Lyons of ON; one sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Flannagan of Fredericton and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Victoria was predeceased by her son, Wayne Long; four sisters, Leta McKibbon, Queenie Lyons, Vesta Elson and Faye Porter; three brothers, Roy, Allan and Ivan Lyons and one grandson, Adam Long.
Visitation will take place at the McNamee Pentecostal Assembly on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at the McNamee Pentecostal Assembly on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Cole Price officiating. Interment will take place in the Porter Cove Cemetery at a later date. Donations to the Porter Cove Cemetery, Tupelo Children’s Manson or a charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
