Jean a wonderful Christian lady who was loved by all who knew her, has gone peacefully to her eternal home on Saturday, February 6, 2010 surrounded by her family. Born on August 29, 1920 in Doaktown, NB she was a daughter of the late James and Bessie (Brown) Ballard. Jean was a member of McNamee Pentecostal Assembly. Jean is survived by daughters, Essie Higgins of Abbotsford, BC, Dora Stewart (Merle) of New Bandon, NB, Judy Johnston of St. Catherine’s, ON, Joan Dunn (Warren) of Fredericton, NB and Ruth Johnston (Mike) of Miramichi City, NB; sons, Willis Johnston (Mae Louise) of Doaktown, NB, Glenny Johnston (Amanda) of McNamee, NB, Milford Johnston (Brenda) of Burns Lake, BC and John Johnston (Heather) of Fredericton, NB; 26 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; one sister, Berdie Johnston (William) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Earl Johnston and parents, Jean was predeceased by her daughter, Joyce Johnston; son, Harold Johnston; son-in-law, Charles Stewart; grandchildren, Christine and Anthony; great grandson, Cody; brothers, Virgil, Glenny, Hedley, Raymond and Merlin Ballard; sisters, Mabel Doak and Alma Harris. Visitation will take place at McNamee Pentecostal Assembly, McNamee, NB on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from the church on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 2 pm with Pastor Cole Price officiating. Interment will take place in the Doaktown Pentecostal Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances made to the New Brunswick Lung Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
