Obituary of Elizabeth Moir

The passing of Elizabeth “Bessie” Jean (Bruce) Moir, of Boiestown, NB, wife of the late Arthur Moir occurred on Saturday, February 06, 2010 at the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home, Boiestown, NB. Born on September 23, 1916 in Taxis River, NB she was a daughter of the late Burton and Emma Jean (Conroy) Bruce. Bessie was a member of Bloomfield Ridge United Church where she was active with the UCW and Ladies Aid. She was employed as a cook for several years with the Provincial Government and Diamond Construction Ltd. Bessie is survived by her daughter, Wanda Lyons (David) of Charters Settlement, NB; two sons, Mel Moir of Penniac, NB, Kenneth W. (Noreen) Moir of Boiestown, NB; daughter-in-law Ena Moir of Noonan, NB; 19 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Bruce of Nasonworth, NB and Bryce (Meta) Bruce of Taxis River, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Bessie was predeceased by one infant daughter, Elizabeth Elin Moir; one son, A. Bryce Moir; four sisters, Florence Storey, Thelma MacKenzie, Pearl MacBean and Eileen Lyons; three brothers, Lorne, David and Hugh Bruce; sister-in-law, Margaret Bruce; and nephew, Brian Bruce. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 12 Noon until 2 pm followed directly by a service officiated by Pastor Rick Bruce. Interment will take place in Bloomfield Ridge United Church Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
