Obituary of Trevinnion Storey

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Trevinnion “Vin” Perley Storey of Doaktown. Vin died at home with his family on Sunday, February 7, 2010. Born on February 1, 1935, he was the youngest son of the late Earl and Charlotte (Carr) Storey. Vin is survived by his wife Mary (McManus) Storey; sons, Sean (Sandra) of Doaktown and Darren (Carys) of Hanwell; grandchildren, Coel, Zachery, Victoria and Rhayne Storey; sisters, Alta (Paul) Colford of Storeytown, Lois Mahoney of Doaktown, Colleen MacPherson of Fredericton; brother, Glen (Eileen) Storey of Blissfield; sisters-in-law, Sandra of Doaktown and Marina of Blackville, brother-in-law, Clifford Sutherland of Ontario; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Vin was predeceased by sister, Elva; brothers, Don, Lyle and an infant brother Timothy. Vin recently retired as a tractor operator with J.D. Irving. He worked in construction most of his life and owned and operated Storey’s Logging for a number of years. He loved the Miramichi River and was a fishing guide for several years. Vin was happiest spending time on the river with his grandsons. He was particularly pleased to have been included in the book, “Miramichi, River of Character”. He enjoyed hunting with Zack and spending time at his camp in Dungarvon.Vin served on the Doaktown Village Council for nine years and was a member of Doaktown’s first St. John Ambulance Brigade. He served as an Auxiliary member of the RCMP for a number of years. Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral of Christian burial will take place from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Doaktown on Friday at 11 am with Father Andrew Fraser officiating. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to St. Andrew’s Church Basement Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice and would be appreciated by the family.
