Obituary of John Stewart

The family of the late John H. Stewart of New Bandon, husband of the late Francine H. (McAleer) Stewart, are saddened to announce his passing. John was born in McNamee, NB on November 30, 1914, son of the late John and Estelle (Wilson) Stewart. John attended St. James the Greater Anglican Church, Ludlow. He retired as a Christmas Tree Grower, was a former woods worker until the 1950’s, worked with Ford’s Automotive Parts in the 1960’s and also worked at Loundsbury’s Auto Parts. John is survived by his sons, Cedric (Gail) and J. Derwyn (Carmelle) of Fredericton; daughters, Wilma (Bliss) Spencer of Taxis River and Linda (Leonard) Peterson of Doaktown; ten grandchildren, Bonnie, Keith, Vickey, Grant, Angela, Barbara, Shannon, Michelle, Robert and Ronald; “chosen” brother, Robert Stewart; 20 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; son-in-law, Claude Price; sister-in-law, Norah Dorcas; several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by daughter, Marina Price; brother, Wilson Stewart; sisters, Vida Whalen and Ina Lyons. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from St. James Anglican Church, Ludlow, NB on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 2 pm with Father Andrew Fraser officiating. Interment will take place in the adjoining cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Anglican Parish of Ludlow and Blissfield, Central NB Nursing Home or the charity of the donor’s choice.
