Obituary of Jane Fleming

On the morning of January 31, 2011, Jane died peacefully at the Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. She was born in Moncton, NB, on October 30, 1959, and lived in Shediac, Minto, and Boiestown, NB. Jane graduated from the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing and nursed in Grand Prairie and Calgary, AB, Riyadh Saudi Arabia, and for a brief time in the Emergency Department of the Chalmers Regional Hospital. Jane was an excellent bedside nurse who gave, and expected, the best care for her patients. Jane’s first love was her family. She is survived by her parents Barbara (McAllister) and Gerald Fleming, Boiestown, NB, and her siblings: Dr. Ann (John) Collins, Fredericton, NB, her twin Jim (Dorine) Fleming, Moncton, NB, Grant (Jacques Webster) Fleming, Winnipeg, MB, Dr. Ian Fleming, Victoria, BC, Paul Fleming, Moncton, NB, Michael Fleming, Boiestown, NB, and Mary Fleming, Calgary, AB. Jane is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephew Josh (Jenn Boutilier), Jessica, and Julia Collins, and Natalie Fleming, and by her aunts Shirley (McAllister) Creamer, Saint John, NB, Noreen McQueen, Fredericton, NB, and many special cousins. Jane was a spirited and compassionate human being. We will all miss her beyond measure. Visitation will be at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB, Thursday, February 3rd, from 2-4pm, and 7-9pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joachim’s Church, Boiestown, NB, on Friday February 4th, at 11am with Father Vincent Donovan as celebrant. Active pallbearers will be Jane’s brothers and nephew. Honourary pallbearers will be her “nursing sisters”: Louise Marcotte, Penelope Wride, Val Power-Roland, June Wyse, Janet Nordhagen, and her “wing-man” John Collins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Upper Miramichi Meals on Wheels, and the Palliative Care Unit of the Chalmers Regional Hospital.
