Obituary of Albert MacDonald
Early on the morning of Friday, December 27, 2019, Albert Fraser MacDonald of South Portage, NB left for his heavenly home. Born on February 26, 1942 in Fredericton, NB he was the only son of the late Ruby (Fraser) and Archie MacDonald. Albert enjoyed reading, family genealogy, history, hunting, being outdoors and long walks with his Beagle, “Biscuit”. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, watching them grow. They affectionately refer to him as “Bumpy”. He graduated from ABI High School, Hampton, NB in 1960, followed by the NB Technical Institute in 1963. Albert was an electrician for 44 years with IBEW Local 2166, having worked in many provinces.
In addition to his wife of 55 years, Nancy (Wilson), Albert is survived by and will be dearly missed by his children, Kimberly Hunter (Duane), Chris MacDonald, Shelley Foster (Doug) and Jill Bourgeois (Chad); grandchildren, Brittany, Lynsey, Jayme, Brady, Karleigh, Cody, Brianna, Kenzie, Kieran and Brenna; his precious great grandchildren, Leighton, Paisley and Carter; and by a large extended family including several cousins, brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Albert was predeceased by an infant sister, Delores.
In keeping with Albert's wishes there will be no visitation or service. A Graveside Service, Burial and Gathering will take place in Nashwaak Bridge Community Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the IWK, NBBI, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
