COPELAND, QUEENIE (HOVEY) BRUCE
“I’m singing with the angels and dancing with the stars”
The passing of Queenie (Hovey) Bruce Copeland occurred on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Fredericton Hospice House. Born on March 22, 1939 in Porter Cove, NB, she was the daughter of the late Everett and Alice (MacKay) Hovey. She retired as manager and cook of the Log Cabin Fishing Club. Queenie was a member of Greenwood Drive Baptist Church; Life Member of the Women’s Missionary Society; Past Member of the Miramichi Salmon Association; Member of the Miramichi Salmon Hall of Fame - NB Guide. Queenie enjoyed fly fishing, fly tying and planes. She will be remembered for her ability to write a good story.
Queenie is survived by her daughters, Cathy Nash (Keith) of Fredericton, NB and Holly Bruce (Emmett Donnally) of Stanley, NB; son, Lorne Bruce (Valerie) of USA; grandchildren, Bobbie Sue Munn (Casey), Jeremiah Bruce (Amanda), Joshua Bruce (Angelica), Johanna Flanagan (Eric) and David Bruce (Sabrina Mountain);great-grandchildren, Brock and Blake Bruce, Samuel and Ava Flanagan, Lily Munn, Riley Fusco, Aria Bruce and Bayne Bruce; sisters, Sharon Hovey of Fredericton, NB and Wanita Johnson of Whitehorse, Yukon; brothers, Donald Hovey (Claudette) of Uxbridge, ON and Frederick Law (Audrey) of Brigden, ON; many special nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents; first husband, David Bruce; second husband, Calvin Copeland, Queenie was predeceased by her daughter, Tina Munn (nee Bruce); sisters, Verda Chiasson, Isabel McNeish, Neva Conroy and Mary Larson; brothers, Everett and Galen Hovey.
Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Chapel, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Ludlow Baptist Church on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 2 pm with Rev. Rick Bruce officiating. Interment will take place in Ludlow Baptist Cemetery.
