Obituary of Dianne Matheson

It is with great sadness that the family of Marguerite “Dianne” Matheson announce her passing on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on September 20, 1946 in Charlottetown, PE, she was a daughter of the late James and Florence (Sommers) Harding. Dianne was an active member of Greenwood Drive Baptist Church. After raising two daughters, Dianne reentered the workforce with Hallmark Cards and then later became employed as a Teacher's Assistant in various schools in the Fredericton area. During these years, Dianne truly believed she found her calling as she loved working with the children. During her leisure time, Dianne was an active member with the Silver Dolphins Swim Club, was a dedicated volunteer with the church clothing bank, enjoyed gardening, baking for others as well as spending time with her family. Dianne is survived by her children, Shelley Farrell (Shawn) and Stacey Weatherbee (Jamie); grandchildren, Spencer and Ryan Farrell, Sam and Sophie Marquis and Brayden Morgan-Weatherbee; sisters, Joan Hickox, Gail Harding (George), Sandy Harding and Marie Harding (Norman); brothers, David Harding (Cathy) and Darrell Harding; sister-in-law, Ida Harding; several nieces and nephews. Dianne was predeceased by her husband, Edward “Tim” Matheson; daughter, Sheila Matheson; brothers, Jimmy and Errol Harding. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from Greenwood Drive Baptist Church on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 3 pm with Rev. Gordon Cook officiating. Pallbearers will be Sam Marquis, Ryan Farrell, Spencer Farrell, Joel Dennis, Jamie Weatherbee and Shawn Farrell. Interment will take place in Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery.
