Obituary of Lois Jones

Life Legacy JONES, LOIS 1947-2019 We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Lois Jones of Williamsburg, NB on Monday, September 2, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Lois was born in Fredericton, NB in 1947 the daughter of the late Donald W. and Delores Jones. Lois was a longtime employee of Zellers in Fredericton and later worked at Jack’s Auto Salvage and Brenway Transport. Lois was inducted into the NB Softball Hall of Fame with the Fredericton Neill’s Ladies Softball Team. They won three Provincial and Maritimes Championships (1966-1967-1968). In her younger years, she loved fishing with her friend Sharon and later enjoyed playing cards and bingo with Val. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, David Jones of Williamsburg; her son, Chris (Valerie) Munn of Williamsburg; step son, David (Nicole) Jones of Berry Mills; step daughter, Shelley Jones of New Glasgow, NS; two sisters, Donna (Stephen) Fawcett of Fredericton and Trudy (Karl) Edgar of Stanley; four brothers, Wayne (Erma) Jones of Beaverdam, Gary (Ann) Jones, Brian (Heather) Jones and Kenneth Jones all of Fredericton, NB; three grandchildren, Kelly (Terry) Bridges, Whitney (Chris Northrup) Grant and Christopher (Katie Stiles) Munn (the Boy); two step grandchildren, Gavin and Ian Jones; five great grandchildren, Charity (Stephanie Grasse) Bridges, Grace (Tim Law) Bridges, Morgan Merritt, Marley and Lincoln Northrup; two great great granddaughters, Ellie and Georgia; also left to grieve are four sisters in law, Eleanor (Bert) Scott and Donna (Bill) Ward of New Maryland, Angela (Keith) Brewer of Fredericton and Diane (Stanley) Stanton of Whale Cove, NS; several aunts and uncles; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lois was predeceased by her parents, brother, Winston Jones; sister in law, Edith Darrah and brother in law, Keithie Jones. The Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Private Family Funeral Service and Interment will be held. The family wish to express their gratitude to Dr. Aslam, Dr. Schaus, Dr. Bryden and the ICU Nurses, Christine, Bonnie, Alice and Lauren for the care and compassion given to Lois and her family.
