To all of Carol's family members.
We were so sorry to learn that Carol had taken the next step on her journey. But to learn that she was peaceful, helped us to accept what had happened.
I was always impressed with how content she was with the last stages. What a meaningful lesson to the rest of us, who fear what is ahead. There was no fear in Carol. Only faithful acceptance.
I already miss my friend so much. We only met a few short years ago at a monthly Natural Resources retirees lunch, and we got along well right from the start.
We had fun going out for breakfast or lunch or supper on occasion. And we had a couple of movie nights as well. And there were a couple of trips to shop at Carol's favourite stores in Moncton. We always seemed to have lots to chat about, and I already miss her ready smile and her laughter.
As her family, I know how much you will miss her too. She was so very proud of all of you, and spoke to me often in loving terms about how she treasured you all. Talking about the members of her family always brought a smile to her face.
May the many memories you all have of Carol, gleaned from years of family gatherings, help you to get through the difficult days ahead. Remember her smile...and smile in response.
Sincerely and with consoling hugs,
Merike & Ron
