Obituary of Georgina Hayes

Georgina Hayes, beloved mother and grandmother passed away and entered eternity peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB on Sunday, July 28, 2019. Born to George F. and Marjorie DeBow on July 10, 1940 in Saint John NB, she was 79. She married the love of her life, Arnold Hayes on August 15, 1964. She faithfully loved her husband and children, with never a day passing without expressing that love. Georgina was predeceased by her husband Arnold, an infant child, Andrew Arnold, as well as her father and mother. She is survived by her two children: Matthew and his wife Jennifer of Lakeland, FL, and Jonathan and his wife Natalie of Fredericton NB; her five grandsons: Nathan, George Wesley, Benjamin, Brandon and Carter; her sister Nadine (Robert) Grasse of Douglas NB; her brother in law Gordon (Isabel) Hayes of Millstream, NB, Perley (Carlen) Hayes of Browns Flat, NB; Wayne Sears of Salisbury, NB; her sister in law Connie Hayes of Carsonville, NB as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. Georgina was a school teacher for many years in Moncton. She was a long time member of the Moncton Wesleyan Church and Brooksville Wesleyan in Brooksville, FL where she and Arnold spent the winter months together. She loved to travel and did so throughout the world. She was deeply committed to missions and her work with World Hope Canada. She enjoyed being a part of the Fredericton Cecilian Singers. In lieu of flowers, donations to World Hope Canada (worldhope.ca) would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB, from where her memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 11 am.
