Obituary of Jerry Munn

The passing of Jerry Alexander Munn of Bloomfield Ridge, NB, husband of Mavis (Lyons) Munn occurred on Monday, July 22, 2019 at the Central NB Nursing Home. Born at the Wilson homestead on May 7, 1932 in Bloomfield Ridge, NB, he was the son of the late Judson and Margaret (Fowler) Munn. Jerry was a true outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt, trap and enjoyed his garden. An “upriver” guide, he began his guiding career bringing guests from Halfmoon to Boiestown for Clayton Stewart. He also guided for Blair Hunter, Porter Brook Camps, Ponds, Clearwater and Salmon Brook Camps. Between guiding he was branch manager for the Irving Oil bulk plant in Boiestown, he drove truck for L. D. Hunter and spent over 20 years with the department of Transportation. He was a member of the Boiestown United Church, Landmark Masonic Lodge in Boiestown and a past member of the Miramichi Board of Trade as well as past Director of the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home. Besides his wife of 67 years, Jerry is survived by his sons, Judson Munn (Isabel) of Bloomfield Ridge, NB, Jeffrey Munn (Shelley) of New Maryland, NB and Gregory Munn (Stacey) of Bloomfield Ridge, NB; grandchildren, Jodi, Earle, Ryan, Andrew and Grace Munn; great-grandchildren, Armi, Elijah and Raven; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his brothers, Hazen and Fowler Munn. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Chapel, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Graveside Service be held in Bloomfield Ridge United Church Cemetery on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 4 pm with Father Neil Osiowy officiating. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Central NB Nursing Home Van Fund. Personal condolences may be offered through www.miramichivalleyfh.com
