Obituary of Richard Rosborough
Life Legacy
Wayne Rosborough passed away peacefully on July 12, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital at the age of 60 with his wife Kelly and daughter Wendy at his side with him 24/7 over his last several days after his transfer from the Saint John Regional Hospital where he spent much of his time battling the effects of leukemia over the past 2 ½ years. Wayne was also sad from losing his Mom and family anchor Marion (Mason) Rosborough only 6 weeks ago; also predeceased by his Dad Wendell (Tex) in 1981.
Wayne was born December 31, 1958 and is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Kelly (Barry) over their 21 year marriage. Wayne was also very close to his children, Wendy Rosborough and Matthew (Jessica) Rosborough and grandchild, Porter; step-children, Melissa and Samuel Barry all now living in Alberta.
Wayne has 3 brothers living in Fredericton who also loved and honored him - Brian (Karen), Robert and Peter; several nieces and nephews.
Wayne was a very humble man with no enemies. Personal integrity was very important with Wayne with family, friends, his employers (Loyal Cab and the Trius Companies as a taxi driver broker) and his customers. Wayne was never a man to complain about his setbacks in life and was a self-made man from growing up in poverty to being very laborious and never receiving any government assistance or government benefits in his lifetime until his illness
Wayne much loved animals including his cats and nightly visitor Raccoon 'Rocky' who would only come close to Wayne and who recently introduced Wayne to his new girlfriend. Wayne volunteered with the SPCA when needed for animal rescues during severe storms. Wayne enjoyed his trips to Grand Manan, especially seeing whales and porpoises. Wayne also enjoyed gardening and playing cards but his favorite activity all his life was fishing with his family members.
Wayne was a gentle loving man right up to the evening before he passed and even calmed the room of family, visitors and medical staff by being humorous as always even though he knew that he was soon to be with his Lord.
A Celebration of Life will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday July,13/19 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm with Pastor Eugene Munn to pray. Anyone who also wish to offer comments for Wayne at the celebration are also welcomed. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital-Oncology Unit.
The family wish to express their gratitude to the Doctors, an especially to the nurses at the Saint John Regional Hospital Oncology Unit, for their care and compassion shown for Wayne and his family. The family also appreciated the care and attention from the excellent staff at the DECH his last few days.
