Obituary of Sharon Porter

Life Legacy The passing of Sharon Beverly Porter of Fredericton, NB, loving friend and common law partner of Richard Grant occurred on June 27, 2019 at Hospice Fredericton. Born on November 7, 1941 in Marysville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Milford and Helen (Pickard) Porter. Sharon retired after spending 42 years at the Victoria Public Hospital and the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital as a Dietician. She enjoyed playing softball, bowling, camping and dancing. She is a member of the NB Sports Hall of Fame. In addition to her common-law spouse, Sharon is survived by her chosen daughters, Leslie and Jenny Fawcett; sisters-in-law, Norma Porter, Bonnie Fortin, Ruby Anderson, Elizabeth Porter and Jane Porter; nieces, Kim Porter, Pamela (Dusty) Rhodes, Cindy Porter, Wendy and Allison; nephew, Basil Porter; several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Ernest Porter; brothers, Jack (Joyce), Don (Dot) and Ron. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 1 pm with Pastor George Clark officiating. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Hospice Fredericton.
