Obituary of Gerald Campbell

On Monday, June 10th surrounded by his loving family, Gerald ‘Jerry’ Henry Campbell, peacefully left his earthly home after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Sheila (Ginson); four children, Susan Jamieson (Chris), Troy Campbell (Dawn White), Nick Merrill (Elizabeth), and Shannon Merrill (Henry Roussie); five grandchildren, Brittany (Mitch), Casey, Kirsten, Theoren and TJ; one great granddaughter, Thea.; siblings, Katherine Reade (Jerry), Charles Campbell (Linda), Gladys Bartlett, Rose-Marie Hughes, Phillip Campbell, Patricia Merrill (Edwin Yerxa) and Frances Ginson. Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Doreen (Boyce) Campbell; brothers-in-law; Melvin Bartlett, Robert Hughes and Fred Ginson; sister-in-law, Muriel Campbell. Jerry was a kind and compassionate man with a strong love for his family, church and community. He attended Nashwaaksis United Church and for many years prior to moving to Fredericton, he was a faithful member of Hillcrest United Church in Stanley. Always the first one to volunteer to cook or serve at church suppers, take out the garbage for a neighbour or fix a lawn mower or chain saw for a friend. Jerry always had a wink and a smile in an instant. His kindness and big heart was always evident in the way he treated everyone he met. He had a keen sense of humour, always teasing and laughing. He touched many lives with his kindness and laughter, and he will be greatly missed. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, June 13, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 2 pm at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. Nathan Wright and Rev. Kay Clowater officiating.
