Obituary of Eva Bartlett

The passing of Eva Irene (Dorcas) Bartlett of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Robert S. Bartlett Sr., occurred on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Hospice Fredericton. Born on January 20, 1923 in Williamsburg, NB, she was a daughter of the late Wesley and Beatrice Dorcas. Eva was a member of Gibson Memorial United Church. She was employed with Sears Canada as an assistant manager in the mail ordering department. Eva was very fond of traveling, she enjoyed going to various destinations around the world. Two of her favourite past times was snowmobiling in her younger years and playing cards with family and friends. Eva is survived by her children, Robert Bartlett (Inez) and Vivian Coughlan (late Gordie); grandchildren, Jarrett Bartlett and Jill Balyta (John); great-grandchildren, Jade and Malik Balyta; sister, Joyce Jones; brothers, Harold Dorcas (Cecile), Wilfred Dorcas (Gladys), Vernon Dorcas (Doris) and Robert Dorcas (Dorothy); numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Eva was predeceased by her sisters, Christine “Chris” Hart, Florence Dorcas, Gertrude Weeks, Greta Wallace and Shirley Dorcas; brothers, Ross, Eugene, Leslie and Ralph Dorcas; step children, Cora Scott, Vincent Bartlett, Carl Bartlett, Greta Street and Otto Bartlett. Visitation will take place at Gibson Memorial United Church, 183 Gibson Street, Fredericton, NB on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be from the church on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 11 am with Rev. Kelly Higgins officiating. A reception will follow the service. Interment will take place in Williamsburg Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Gibson Memorial United Church, Hospice Fredericton or charity of the donor’s choice.
