Obituary of Rayma Blake

Rayma Dawn Blake passed away on March 31, 2019 at age 78 at York Care Centre, surrounded by loved ones. She was born November 13, 1940 to the late Chalma and Bertie (Knox) Billings. She is survived by her partner, Allan Sherwood and her brothers, Wayne Billings (Nancy) and Stan Billings (Lynn). She is also survived by a brother-in-law, Gerald Billings and a sister-in-law, Paulette Billings and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband; David Blake, her brothers, Harold Billings (late Marilyn), Arnold Billings; sisters, Louise Billings, Rowena Sherwood and Eva Billings. Rayma was raised in Central Hainesville and later moved to Toronto where she worked hard taking night courses while working at First Choice TV and the Globe & Mail as an Accountant. She later returned to Fredericton where she worked at Legal Aid New Brunswick until she retired. Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 12 to 2 pm at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr, Fredericton, NB. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 2 pm at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. Peter Thomas officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Central Hainesville Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff at York Care Centre which has been her home for almost 10 years.
