Obituary of Stanley Reid

With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Stanley “Stan” Edward Reid of Lincoln, NB, loving husband of Velma (Hossack) Reid occurred on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 9, 1933 in Holtville, NB, he was the son of the late James “Sandy” and Jean (Banks) Reid. Stan was first and foremost a family man; he enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. In addition to his wife of 63 years, Stan will be lovingly missed by their two sons, Danny (Cheryl) and Barry (Heather); grandchildren, Jamie, Lindsay (Mike), Lisa (Brad), Krista (Trevor), Stacey (Mike), Christopher (Shawna) and Michael; great grandchildren, Meah, Cohen, Henry, Nora, Charlie, Martha, Alec and Tanner; sisters, Mary Rusonik and Eileen Amos; nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Geoffrey; siblings, Betty, Pearl, Murray and Arnold. He was also predeceased by his canine friend, Fancy Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 2 pm with Pastor Gordon Mowry officiating. Honourary Pallbearers for the service will be Jimmy Reid, Norman Reid, John Carten, Murray Hay and Keith Dorcas. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Williamsburg Community Cemetery.
